Scrapbook Pages

I love to spend time putting our pictures and keepsakes into archive-safe scrapbooks.  Although I use the Creative Memories albums, I like to put more artwork into my albums than what Creative Memories would promote.  My goal is to have a series of books for each of our children to have to remember the highlights and special people in their lives.  Please excuse the messy stitching jobs - I'm just learning the tricks to scanning 12x12 pages on a 8.5X11.5 scanner!

This is Kacie's birth pages in our Family album.  I used swirl and egg punch shapes to create the roses and tied the bouquets with ribbon.

Keeping with the rosebud theme I simply cut roses out of the background paper to hide the photo holders in the corners.  I don't like to glue pictures down unless I have the negatives!

Kacie 4 month Portrait.jpg (56521 bytes)

Kacie's Four Month Portrait taken in July 1999.  The border idea is from Two Peas in a Bucket.  I cut 4 hearts out of coordinating paper, shaded the edges with chalks, and tied them together with raffia.

This is probably my favorite two-page spread.  Kacie loves to help make cookies (and eat them along the way).  The pictures were taken during the summer of 2000.  The pile of cookies is just torn paper with penciled raisins.  The recipe for Soft Oatmeal Cookies is in the corner.
